CHATTANOOGA, TN - In the opening match of the 2023 USL W League, Tennessee Soccer Club was downed 3-1 Sunday evening by the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves at CHI Memorial Stadium in Chattanooga.
Katie Toney opened the scoring for TSCW in the 5th minute to give the visitors the early lead. Toney, making her USL W League debut, tallied when she dribbled in alone and beat the Lady Red Wolves goalkeeper on a 1v1.
TSCW started fast as forward Katie Shea Collins hit the post with a shot just 45 seconds into the match with Toney finding the back of the net minutes later.
The visitors held a 1-0 advantage until just before halftime when Mackenzie Smith headed home a cross in the 45th minute leveling the score headed into the break.
Chattanooga got on the board to take the lead in the 51st minute when Grace Morris headed home a corner kick for a 2-1 lead. The Lady Red Wolves extended their advantage when Jayla Gallespie scored in the 70th minute for the final margin.
TSCW will be back in action Monday, May 22 as they travel to Statesboro, GA to take on defending National Champion South Georgia Tormenta at 7 pm ET at Tormenta Stadium.

TSC also fields two U23 pre-professional teams competing in USL W League (women’s) and USL League Two (men’s). TSC has won multiple state and national championships in recent years through competition in these leagues.
